Mnemonic of the Day: Equipment Required to Set Up Continuous Aerosol Therapy

I spent most of 3 hours yesterday racking my brain, trying to remember all of the equipment needed to set up continuous aerosol therapy since I have a lab on Friday over it. After much work, I was able to come up with a mnemonic that a few of you might find useful. It's silly, but remember: Continuous Oxygen Therapy With Saline Has Definitely Flip-flopped Nebulization Forever.

Calibrated oxygen analyzer
Oxygen- or small-bore supply tubing
Thermometer PRN for pts with artificial airways
Watertrap
Scissors
Heater PRN for pts with artificial airways
Delivery device: T-Bar, Aerosol Mask, Face Tent, or Tracheostomy Mask (remember two T's and two masks)
Flowmeter(s)
Nebulizer set-up assembly with pre-filled solution
FIO2: If less than neb allows, need a bleed-in adapter.

I'll admit it's a mouth full, but it is kinda catchy if you say it a few times. It works for me, so it might work for you.
